In hospitals and other public institutions, writing utensils often pass through many hands and can easily mutate into a medium of contamination.
Due to the current corona pandemic, the need for germ-free surfaces has become even more urgent; previous solutions were temporary, complicated and expensive. The biggest problem we see is the rapid loss of effectiveness of all current systems, especially with nano-silver and nano-zinc.
Aseptic through the power of light
In the course of our research, we at PRO-MED have now come across a clinical plastic which fulfils our requirement, namely a long-lasting effectiveness, one hundred percent. The material has already been in clinical use for several years and eliminates germs and viruses without tolerance. Pathogens are killed quickly and completely with the help of light before they can develop resistances. The principle is scientifically called photocatalysis and means: light in combination with embedded metal oxides produces a hail of free oxygen radicals which kills all pathogens on our plastic surface.
The double-acting principle
In combination with the humidity of the air, a second reaction occurs - an acidic environment develops, comparable to the natural acid mantle of our skin. Our method can therefore be described as a double-acting principle:
